Fresh cassava tuber

Fresh cassava is a root vegetable native to South America, now a major source of calories and carbohydrates for people in many tropical regions around the world. It looks like a long, thick brown stick with a rough, bark-like exterior. The flesh inside can be white or yellowish, with a firm, starchy texture.
